SNL, Please Hire Some More Comedians of Color

Saturday Night Live has been the launching pad for the careers of Chris Rock, Eddie Murphy, and Tim Meadows. But for the past several seasons, the only reoccurring African-American member in the cast is Keenan Thompson. And as talented as Keenan is, he's a little too hefty to play Barack Obama.

So last January, when the cast needed an Obama impersonator to play against Amy Poehler's Hillary Clinton, they sent out a casting notice for an African-American male, but ultimately ended up putting the Lebanese Fred Armisen in black(er) face.

Being Sarah Palin: A Scary Look Into the Governor's Thought-Process

PETA Still Railing on the Olsens

PETA's again out to destroy the Olsen twins before the young, frowny things have the opportunity to destroy themselves.

Just in time for Halloween, the controversial animal rights group is giving away free ugly masks mocking the sisters, who the annoying-even-to-vegans organization has dubbed the Trollsen Twins.

Model Ben Massing's Genre Lawsuit: Actually, It Is Homophobic

Model Ben Massing sent us a note this week insisting he's not a homophobe, charges he incurred after suing gay magazine Genre for running sexually suggestive pictures of him without his permission. Wrote Massing via an attorney:

Numerous media outlets focused on the fact that the images appear in a publication geared toward the gay community. Based upon these reports, some have mischaracterized me as homophobic, which could not be further from the truth.

Palin Perfects The Art Of Awkward Silence

Here's something new: A clip of Sarah Palin looking like an uninformed twit as she is asked fairly basic questions about politics. This scenario was brought up Tuesday, when we said Sarah couldn't name any Supreme Court cases, but the video shows she just can't name any with which she disagrees. Minor difference, but you know she couldn't even name a single one if she tried. Hell, she couldn't even name a newspaper when asked.

Steve Douchey

Surprise! This one has nothing to do with John McCain or Sarah Palin or reading or believing women should have their rapist's babies. This post is purely about the idiocy of Fox News and how badly every ding dong in that place's employ understands satire and common decency.

Bo Burnham: The Anti-Zac Efron

Meet Bo Burnham, YouTube sensation (not of the Chris Crocker variety) and the latest member of the Judd Apatow family. This kid just turned 18 and he's already been tapped to write the music for — and star in — a new Apatow comedy that is being billed as "the anti-High School Musical." Sounds awesome already.

Jay-Z To Use His Clout To Hype Newest "It" Play

Last weekend I had the distinct pleasure of seeing Bill T. Jones' play, Fela!, about Nigerian music legend and activist Fela Kuti. While waiting to enter the theater, I briefly chatted with someone who told me that he was part of Beyonce's crew and that she would be attending the show. If you know me, you know my interest was more than piqued, but, to my great disappointment, I never actually saw her.

David Blaine Admits He Kinda Sucks

Magical tool David Blaine is pulling every excuse out of thin air for his failed stunt Wednesday night. First it was George W. Bush's fault (well, everything is, really). Now it's Mother Nature's fault, because she had the audacity to ruin his plans for "the most amazing ending for a stunt ever" (his words, not ours) with high winds.
